Adding Sparkles

A zip file below has a graphic of a cute angel lamb.  We are going to add sparkles to certain areas of the image.  You will also need a sparkle tube Find Here. Open the lamb image in PSP and using the freehand selection tool select the parts of the image you want to add sparkle to.  I am going to add sparkles to the hearts and the bow.  (by holding the shift key down you can choose more than one selection)

Here you can see that the two hearts and the bow around his neck are all selected.  We want to Promote this layer to Raster if it is a background layer in the layer palette.  Now duplicate this layer at least three times.  You can do more if you prefer.  Then go to Adjust/ Add/Remove Noise / Add Noise.  Use the settings as below:

Random Seed, and 50% on the noise level.

Next go to the next layer and this time choose 25% on the noise level.  Then the third layer change to 60% noise.  If you have more than three layers keep changing the noise level until all layers are done.  Deselect.

Now get your tiny sparkle tube out and add a couple of random sparkles to each layer.
Save your image as a .pspimage and open in Animation Shop.

You should have as many frames as you did layers in PSP.  Run the animation Preview and adjust the display time and voila!  There is sparkles.

Have Fun!
