Flickering Lights

1. Open your lamp post tube (find it here) and Shift+D to duplicate.  Close original.

2. Copy and paste as a new animation in AS.

3. Go back to PSP and duplicate you layer 2 times so you have a total of 3 layers.  Close off the top 2 layers by clicking on the eye.  Be sure the bottom layer is active.

4. Select your Lighten/Darken tool.

Use the following settings:

Shape Round/Size 30/Hardness 0/Step 1/Density 100/Thickness 100/Rotation 0/Opacity 20

5. RIGHT click in the center of your lamp light 3 or 4 times to darken it.  Then, copy and paste after current frame in AS.

6. Back to PSP.  Hide the bottom layer and make the middle layer active and unhide it.  LEFT click the center of your lamp light 4 or 5 times to lighten it.  Copy and paste after current frame in AS.

7.  Back to PSP one more time.  Close off the middle layer again and make the top layer active and unhhide.  RIGHT click in the center of your light 2 or 3 times to darken it again.  Copy and paste after current frame in AS.

8.  Leave your frame properties at 10.  View your animation and it should look something like this.

This effect works not only for lights, but for anything you want to give a flickering type effect.

Enjoy!
