Glowing
Text
1. Open a new image
600X400.
2. Go to
your text tool. Choose a thick font. (I used Bazooka.) Choose
a favorite color, gradient, or pattern for your background and a
coordinating solid for the foreground. I used black for the
foreground and pink for the background. Click create as
vector. Stroke width 3.
3. Type in the
desired text. (You do not want your text to take up the entire tag, so be
sure to leave plenty of working space.) Go to
Objects>Align>Center in Canvas.
4. Covert
to raster layer and duplicate 2 time for a total of 3
text layers.
5. Close the
top 2 text layers and make sure your bottom layer is active.
Add the following drop shadow:
Vertical & Horizontal 0,
Opacity 100, Blur 15, Color-choose a color which would coordinate with
your text colors, I'm going to use the hot pink.
(I've added a black background so
you can see the shadow better)
6. Close the bottom text
layer and open the middle one. Add the same drop shadow, but this
time change the Blur to 35.
7. Close the middle layer
now and open the top layer. Once again, add the drop shadow changing
the Blur to 55 this time.
8. Open all layers. Go
to the middle layer and duplicate. Move the duplicate
layer above all your 3rd text
layer. You will now want add a raster layer and
flood fill with a color for your background if you haven't already.
Now, duplicate this layer 3 times. You should have 4 background
layers and 4 text layers for a total of 8 layers. Merge each
text layer to one of the background layers so you will have 4 layers
total. (Be sure you keep your text layers in the same
order. )
9. Save as PSP Animation
Shop or pspimage, whichever your version uses in AS.
10. Go to AS and open your
saved image. Select All and change the frame properties to 18.
Click on frame 3 ONLY and change frame properties to 50. Now, view
your animation and it should look something like this.
11. Save if your are happy with
it.
Of course you can use this to
make more than just text glow.
Enjoy!
