Using Glitters

We've learned how to make glitter effects using PSP and AS.  Now it's time to learn how to use all those premade glitters we see everywhere.

First, open your glitter up in AS.  Next, select frame 1 and copy.  Got to PSP and paste as a new image.  Do the same for each frame of your glitter.  I now have 3 new images in PSP since my glitter has 3 frames.

Now, in PSP open a new image 300x300.  Choose a font that you like.  Set your foreground to null and background to black.  Type in your text.  I used Calligrapher.

Duplicate your text layer until you have the same # of layers as you do glitter frames.  I duplicated mine twice for a total of 3 text layers.  Starting with your bottom text layer Select All>Selections Float>Selections Defloat.  Go to your materials palette and select patterns.  Find your frame 1 glitter set at Angle 0, Scale 100.  Flood fill with your pattern.  Do Not Deselect.  Make the next text layer active and change your pattern to the 2nd glitter frame, then flood fill.  Keep repeating until you have filled all of your text with the corresponding glitter.

Deselect.  Copy your bottom layer and paste into AS as a new animation.  Copy the 2nd layer and paste into AS after current frame.  Repeat until you have all your layers pasted into AS.  Now view your animation and change the frame properties to your liking.  Then save as GIF.

This works with other things too like borders, shapes, any area you can select and fill really!  Hope you all have fun!
