Let's Make an Easter Egg!

Create a new image  300 X 500 Raster with Transparent Background.  Choosing a Gradient, a pastel to white or off white works best with the image you chose for egg. I have supplied the ones I used for this tutorial here.  Flood Fill the Raster Layer with the gradient.

Go to EFFECTS / GEOMETRIC EFFECTS / CIRCLE making sure that the transparent button is checked click OK.  You should have a image like this.

Next go to EFFECTS / GEOMETRIC EFFECTS / PERSPECTIVE - VERTICAL  here we set the Distortion to 45 and Edge Mode to Transparent.  Click OK.  Now it looks like this.

And again go to EFFECTS / GEOMETRIC EFFECTS / SPHERIZE  here we set the strength to 45 and the Ellipse button is clicked.  Now click ok and it looks more like a egg shape.

Add a new layer.  Open your tube and go to EFFECTS / GEOMETRIC EFFECTS / SPHERIZE using the same settings as the egg shape.  Resize the image as needed to place inside the egg shape.  it should look like this.

Now we need to add another layer and move down below our tube image layer.  Taking the Draw tool in Ellipse shape draw an ellipse around the top of the tube image.  It doesn't matter what color it is it won't be part of the final picture.  Like this.

Now using the Text tool making sure we are creating as a vector, Lets create a saying on a curve at the top of the image.  Like this.

You should have a separate layer for the text, then go back to the solid ellipse that we drew, and delete that layer or just click on the eye icon next to the layer.  And that gives us the final image.  Once you are satisfied with it go to LAYERS / MERGE / MERGE VISIBLE  this allows the layers to be merged without loosing our transparency.  Resize your image and you should now have a egg like this.  You can add a drop shadow if you like, I did not.

This was fun, wasn't it?

Enjoy!
