How to Make your own Watermark

You've seen them, those transparent logos that some designers put on their tubes and other images.  You can create one of your own fairly simply.

Start by choosing an image or character that presents the image you want to project for yourself.  I use a pawprint for Catshoes, but you could use a flower, an animal or just a graphic design that best represents you.  For now set this aside until we make the text.

Once you decide what you want to use as your "Tube Name", mine is CatShoes Graphics©, but you can choose whatever suits you.  We will use that to make our logo watermark.  I have copyrighted my logo a few years ago when I was doing some commercial graphics.

Open a new transparent image 500 x 150.  Then choose a font that best suits your graphic choice and in black type your name as large as the space allows making sure you are creating as a floating text.

and while it is still highlighted create a new layer then go to Effects / 3D Effects / Drop Shadow and use the settings below.

Then deselect our floating layer by  hitting CNTRL + D.  You should have a new layer called Raster 2 where the shadow is located.   Click the eye icon next to the Raster 1 Layer and your image should look similar to this.

Lets add another Layer, and here is where you place your character image that you chose.  It can be a character font like mine or a picture as we described before.  Here I show you examples of both.

remember though your watermark is something that should be uniquely yours.  Just like a business logo, people will recognize you by your watermark.  So let it make a statement about you.

Once you are satisfied with the image you need to merge your layers, go to Layers / Merge / Merge Visible then export as a tube to your tube folder.  There you can use the image over and over again resizing as you need to when you share your creations.

Have Fun!
