Lesson #10 - Making Multiple Tubes

This is Lesson #10 named "Making Multiple Tubes.  To start a Multiple Tube (a tube with the same graphic repeated)
we are going to make a simple bead tube.  Open a new graphic  400x400 pixels make sure it is transparent.  Then we are going to show the grid lines on this graphic, Click on View/Grid, This brings a bunch of small gray boxes into our graphic, way too small, way to confusing.  Let's change that!  Click on View/Change Grid, Guides and Snap Properties.  Then change the settings to what is shown below.  This sets the Grid at 200X200 pixels squares and in red so they show up better.

Your image should look like the one shown in the above picture.
Here is an image of a bead. Open the image in PSP then copy this image and the click on our grid picture and paste the bead into the first block as below.

We have our first bead tube,  next we are going to copy this tube and change it a little.  Go to Layers/Duplicate
this puts a new bead right over the first, but it is on a different layer.  Using the move tool , move the new bead (sitting right on top of the other one) to the next block to right.  Now we need to make it a different color, Click on Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize  this will bring up the box as below,

for now just follow the same settings as I have:
Hue: 55 and Saturation: 125  Now your graphic will look as below:

Next we are going to follow those steps again.  Layers/Duplicate to give us another
bead and pull it down from up above to fill the bottom left box.  (** Remember to center
your beads into the grid square)  This time we are going to color it another color so go to
Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and change your settings to show the following:
Hue: 155  Saturation: 125      then Click OK, your graphic should now look like this:

Terrific!  Isn't this fun??!!  Ok now we are going to do the same again  Click on
Layers/Duplicate move the bead over to the left lower box and then go back to
Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and change the settings again.  This time to
Hue: 36  Saturation: 125  Click ok and here is your graphic filled:

  This is so cool!
We have to promote these all to one layer now so go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible
this will promote them all to one layer keeping the transparency we need for a tube.
Next we will save it,  Click on File/Export/Picture Tubes.  The box comes up as below

We need to tell PSP what our tube graphic looks like, so we tell it that there are 2 cells across
and 2 cells down, PSP calculates the total cells and the cell width and height for us.  The only thing we need to do now is to name our tube, I called my Colored Beads but you can name it anything you like.  and You are done you have made a multiple tube!  Congratulations.

In this lesson we learned:
All instructions work for versions X and XI

Have Fun!
