My Masks Don't Look Right

You love the look of using masks but when you try to copy an image made with a mask all you get is a black and white image, what is going on?

When you add a mask you are actually adding a grayscale image, black and white.  What happens when you use a mask you are taking that black and white image, and superimposing it onto the lower image.  The Black is where the Transparency will be and the White is where the image will be.  In order to copy the masked image you must first merge the mask group.  The mask layer itself and the lower image layer.

On your Layer palette right click on the mask group and choose the Merge Group option.  Now your two layers are merged and you can copy and paste this layer like any other layer.
